Master Lei Fan

Lei Fan, male, born August 18,1986 is from Chengdu, Sichuan province in China with a bachelor’s degree.

Experiences as an athlete, a performer and a coach:
In 1991, started training in Chinese Wushu.
In 1993, selected to join Chengdu Municipal Wushu team
In 2001, selected to join Sichuan Provincial ProfessionalTeam to become a professional athlete.
2007-2009, worked as a coach at Sichuan Provincial Wushu Team
2009-2013, studied at Chengdu Sports College, Wushu Department and worked as a coach at Chengdu Municipal Wushu Team.
2012-2013, led Chengdu Wushu Male Team to a number
of individual gold metals and team championship. In 2010, student Cui Xinya won Staff gold metal in Chinese National Youth competition and trials for Asian competition.

Student’s achievement
In May 2014, O-Mei Students represented America to the 5th World Youth Wushu Competition in Turkey. They won 3 Gold, 2 Silver, 5 Bronze metals. (Amy Li C Group A Female Broad Sword Gold; Staff, Silver; Duel, Bronze), (Wesley Huie C Group A Male Straight Sword, Gold; Spear, Silver; Optional Form in the First Eight; Dual in the First Eight), (Emily Fan C Group A Female Optional Form, Bronze; Straight Sword, Bronze; Spear, Bronze; Dual Bronze), (Lucy Lee C Group B Female Southern Sword, Bronze; Southern Bare-hand in the First Eight, Southern Staff, in the First Eight), (Mia Tian C Group C Female Optional Form, Gold), (Dominic Chow C Group A Male Staff in the First Eight, Dual in the First Eight).

August 2014, students represented USA to compete at 2nd World Youth Olympic Game in Nanjing China. They won 4 metals C 3 Gold and 1 Silver. (Amy Li C Female Sword and Staff All-around, Gold), (Emily Fan C Female Straight Sword and Spear All-around, Bronze), (Wesley Huie C Male Sword and Spear All-around, Silver).

September 2014, students represented USA at Pan-American Wushu Championship, they got 4 metals C 3 Gold, 1 Silver
(Dominic Chow C Group A Male Broad-sword Gold, Optional Form Gold, Staff Silver), (Justin Hu- Group C Male Staff, Champion)
2013-2014, participated in community activities like celebrating the New Year, Chinese Spring Festival; Wushu Performances at Maryland University and George Mason University; Asia-Pacific Month Cultural Festival, exchange performance on the same stage with Chinese Wushu Champion Delegation. Guest performer at the fifth New England International Chinese Wushu World Cup in Connecticut.

Personal Awards:
July 1995 at Sichuan Youth Wushu Competition, won Staff 1st Place, Basic Skills 1st Place; Compulsory Bare-hand, 6th Place; Dual Staff, 3rd Place; Barehand, 2nd Place; Personal All-around 2nd Place, awarded as Wushu New Bud.

July, 1996 at Sichuan Youth Wushu Competition, Basic Skills 4th Place, Southern Form 4th Place, Sword 4th Place, Other Skills 1st Place , Dual 3rd Place, Other Weapons 2nd Place. In August, 1996 Basic Skills 2nd Place, Southern Form 2nd Place, Sword 1st Place, Compulsory Form 4th Place, All-around 3rd Place and Sportsmanship Award.
